"Refreshing and airy... serene synth pop" ~ Rising Artists Blog
“A beautiful slice of Americana-tinged minimalist electronica” ~ Amplify Music Magazine

British indie pop artist 22 Oceans presents their new single 'Home', a beautiful slice of Americana-tinged minimalist electronica previewing their new 5-track EP, slated for release on February 22 via 72rpm Records and mastered by renowned producer Marc Joy (Primal Scream, Mike Peters, Oasis, Bernard Butler, Golden Fable, Louise Trehy) at Ferndale Studios in Wales.

'Home' follows up the singles 'Drifting' feat. Liverpool vocalist Rachael Dunn and 'Broken' feat. Jo Madden, both of which were released in 2021. The early 2020 'Butterfly Candy' EP saw Mike Guy collaborate with Wales-based dreampop artist Lights That Change, while the subsequent 'Paradise' EP also involved Orchestral Manoeuvres In the Dark (OMD) co-founder and drummer Malcolm Holmes.

"The song 'Home' was inspired by ideas about returning to the comfort of your home, which doesn’t necessarily have to be a place, but rather the people who have made a large impact on your life," says Mike Guy.

"The song is rooted in the feeling of happiness you feel when thinking about the memories you’ve made with people you enjoy spending time with. It is a reflection of how we are always connected to those we love, no matter how much time may have passed."

Home 03:29
Verse 1 The cityscape is fading with the rain, Noises of the past, the last few days. Couldn't find the missing piece of anything No looking back at what we could've made Chorus Take me back to what I used to know, windows down listening to the radio, don't need signs for where I need to go, open road but only one way home Verse 2 Leaving what was never mine to take clouds are moving, memories left in place the only way that I could see a friendly face I couldn't wait forever anyway. Chorus Take me back to what I used to know, windows down listening to the radio, don't need signs for where I need to go, open road but only one way home Bridge These four wheels, they seem to go so slow. Take me back to what I used to know. These four wheels the seem to go so slow, Take me back to what I used to know Chorus x2 Take me back to what I used to know, windows down listening to the radio, don't need signs for where I need to go, open road but only one way home Take me back to what I used to know, windows down listening to the radio, don't need signs for where I need to go, open road but only one way home. Open road but only one way home

Drifting 03:24
Wish I could take back all those days that I, Feeling helpless, I don’t know where to start, Nothing like this, falling down from the stars. Calling out there, oh you mustn’t be far. I grew stronger, I grew brave, I won’t let you in my way, knock me down I’m here to stay (here to stay) I grew up you stayed the same, I moved on from playing games, knock me down I’m here to stay (here to stay) Bright skies fly like a kite. Too young to lose this fight. I grew stronger, I grew brave, I won’t let you in my way, knock me down I’m here to stay (here to stay) I grew up you stayed the same, I moved on from playing games, knock me down I’m here to stay (here to stay) Drifting, drifting away.........

ReBroken 03:08
1st Verse The sun goes down on another lonely day, the light it fades, no need for me to stay. you never tried; you didn’t notice. what was on your mind? move aside, I know it’s time to leave this all behind x3 2nd Verse I wanted to believe what we had was really good. so changing my life in the way, I know I should. we had our times, we had our moments, still that’s not enough. you crossed the line and now it’s time time to say goodbye x3 I knew that I’d feel better, your weight was pulling me under. I knew that I’d feel better, your weight was pulling me further I knew that I’d feel better, your weight was pulling me under. I knew that I’d feel better, your weight was pulling me further down x3 3rd Verse I wake up each day just knowing that I’ve moved on. Does it come as a shock to you that I’m really gone? I’ll Find someone to share devotion, the true love that I need Now is the time to re-draw the line Time to say goodbye x3 I knew that I’d feel better, (our bond is broken now) your weight was pulling me under. I knew that I’d feel better, (our bond is broken now) your weight was pulling me further I knew that I’d feel better, (our bond is broken now) your weight was pulling me under. I knew that I’d feel better, (our bond is broken now) your weight was pulling me further down
